In Type III we are working on different approaches to integrating text and images. The first exercise is to execute a mock calendar for KCAI using images of the campus. Using separation to design the calendar, I overlaid the type directly over the composite image I created with little regard for its integration with the underlying image, but with attention to maintaining legibility.
The image creates the strongest representation of 'separation' with the duplication and skewed viewed. The typography creates a minimal effect throughout each composition. The second example is far superior than the top as the calendar creates a dynamic shift against the image.
